About Us

Groundvac was Established in 2009, we are a locally owned and operated business servicing the Mackay and surrounding areas. Groundvac uses a technique called Hydro Excavation (Non-destructive digging), combining high pressure water and vacuum to excavate the soil to expose underground services to eliminate costly damage. Some of our clients include Mackay Regional Council, Ergon, Ventia, various mine sites, Hay Point & Daly Bay Coal Terminals, various civil contractors, builders, plumbers and electricians.

Working with many civil and mining clients, and also local government departments we have built a strong and reliable business base. Ground Vac operates 6 x late model hydro excavation trucks equipped with reliable Vermeer vac units, 1 with an 8,000 litre spoil tank, 1 with a 4,500 litre spoil tank, and 5 trucks with 3000lt spoil tanks, 3 of which are also mine compliant, all with trained operators.

We are based in Mackay and our operating hours are 6am to 6pm but will be happy to work outside these hours on request.
